For my podcast I will be talking about the death of my bestfriend’s father due to a heart attack. It happened on any normal day and we were there for a play date and he came home from work. We were about to leave for soccer practice when my friends mom came outside to tell us to run to the neighbors because she had to call an ambulance because Sean wasn’t breathing right. I am writing this to emphasize the importance is valuing time with your loved ones because you never know what could happen.
This is a great start and it sounds like a very important story. As you begin to write, think about who the marginalized/stigmatized group would be. Is it grieving children/ those who lose a parent? Was her father ill for a long time? Would he be the one stigmatized? Would it be her mother, now a single mother, as the one stigmatized in society? Try to focus on one aspect of what I’m sure is a very complicated story. Keep writing!
The words you use in your list allows readers to understand your emotions during this tragedy. This topic seems like it will be something that is hard to talk about as you have to bring these past emotions back up to help the readers feel like they are there with you. I think this is an important topic that many people don’t think too often about. This could help others who have gone through loosing a loved one and help people begin to value every moment they have with the people they love. I think your off to a really good start. You used good descriptive adjectives and your reasoning for this story is strong!
I am very interested to listen to your podcast I feel as if I know what you are going to talk about. This seems like it may be a hard subject to talk about, but someone who is strong as you are will be able to tell such a powerful story about this day. I also agree that people should value time with loved ones because you never know what is going to happen. I have experienced this first hand and it can be a very hard subject.
