Hello, My name is Emily Simpson and I am pursuing a bachelors in the science of nursing from University of New England and am expected to graduate in May 2022. I am from a small town, Stoneham, about 15 minutes north of Boston. Growing up in a small town helped me be able to make strong connections with others and understand the value of community. Throughout my childhood and all the way up until present time, I have been a part of a sports team. Being a part of a team my whole life has taught me leadership skills, communication, structure, and dependability. These skills have helped me get where I am today.
Personal connections is something that I greatly value. Communication with and understanding others is something that I excel in. These strengths and values have lead me to pursue a major in nursing at UNE. The range of specialties that I could have a career in is unbelievable. I am unsure about what kind of work I would like to do but I am very interested in potentially working in pediatrics or labor and delivery due to my charismatic and patient personality. I hope to find a work environment where I am able to make positive connections with my coworkers and patients. I look forward to making a difference in healthcare and in the lives of others. This site will help those who read it learn more about me and my journey to being a nurse.
